Meet the Scholars
Maria is a four-year member of Vintage High’s cross country team where she’s earned most valuable performer honors for both the junior varsity and varsity squads. An avid distance runner, Maria was named junior varsity MVP of her school’s track and field team in 2005 and honored as the varsity track team’s most outstanding distance runner in 2006. For the last three years, Maria has been a part of the Advanced Art and M.e.Ch.a clubs at Vintage High, in addition to holding down a part time job at a local retirement residence. Maria would like a career that surrounds her passion for running, and is looking to attend Chico State, Cal Poly or CSU Long Beach after graduation.
